The S.P.I.A. in coordination with the United Nations in Geneva is pleased to invite you on this day of remembrance in tribute to all men and women, civilians and military, who have worked within the framework of U.N. Missions for Peace and peacekeeping operations in the World.
This International Day was proclaimed in 2002 (resolution 57/129), to pay tribute to all personnel who have served and still serve in peacekeeping operations , cause of their very impressive level of professionalism, their extreme dedication, and their courage.
Thus, this event honors the memory of all those who lost their lives in service of Peace.
This day organized together with the United Nations, is also a way for us to consolidate our many international delegations, to you, further, the nature and causes of our actions. Moreover, we have the privilege to live and share this International Event in the heart of one of the most symbolic place of Peace in the World.
Thus, in the presence of the U.N.O.G. General Secretary or his representative, huge foreign delegations, diplomats and ambassadors of many countries, invested in sensitive peacekeeping operations, veterans peacekeepers, United Nations officials, N.G.Os and journalists , we have the honor to celebrate those of us who have registered their belief in the spirit of the U.N. Charter, invested for the maintenance of Peace, having given up their lives on behalf of Peace.
In addition to discover U.N.O. Geneva , this day will give the opportunity to share this tribute with you, as well as to propose you to discover more our association, the magnitude of his actions, and all areas in which we are involved . This, as well, through presentations and lectures that day, as traded that arise between you, our members, volunteers who walk along with us throughout the years in our projects, our partners in humanitarian operations that we committed, and all of our relationships that support us.
Purely from an organizational point of view, and to allow to the most to join us, has been set up a transport by bus (Lyon/Geneva), through participation, departing from our office based at Lyon-La Feyssine in VILLEURBANNE (69100).
